Doctor shot dead in UP

Deoria (UP): A government doctor, attached to a primary health centre at Bhagawatghat here, was allegedly shot dead by unidentified miscreants, the police said.


Deoria Superintendent of Police (SP) Rakesh Shankar said that Dr Mohammed Khalid was sprayed with bullets by motorcycle-borne assailants leading to his death on the spot.


The body has been sent for post-mortem examination and efforts are on to nab the accused, the SP said, adding a case has been registered in this regard.
