Dr Aparna Jaswal appointed as the Ambassador of IBHRE for 2017

New Delhi: Dr Aparna Jaswal, Additional Director, Electrophysiology, Fortis Escort Heart Institute,was conferred with the prestigious 2017 International Board of Heart and Rhythm Examiners  IBHRE Ambassador of the Year Award. The recognition was presented recently at the Heart Rhythm Examiners Society Annual Conference held in Chicago, Illinois in the United States of America.


Dr Aparna Jaswal has spent the last 11 years in the field of Cardiology & Electrophysiology and is a one of the few woman electro physiologists in India. She is currently affiliated with the Cardiological Society of India, is a Fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society, USA, Fellow of American College of Cardiology, USA and the ambassador of the Heart Rhythm Society- IBHRE.  She has conducted several interesting case studies such as Successful CRT/CRT-D implants in extremely sick patients, successful implants in the paediatric population and the successful implementation of a pacemaker in a 102 year old lady among others.


Dr Jaswal’s role as an IBHRE ambassador is critical to the success of the organisation. She speaks at conferences and workshops around the world to advance and facilitate the heart rhythm management profession. In addition to this she regularly serves as a mentor to early career professionals.  As an IBHRE ambassador she is part of a distinguished team of physicians and allied professionals who promote the value of IBHRE certification. The importance of IBHRE certification is that it increases the heart rhythm professional's knowledge in order to improve the quality of care delivered to patients.

Since 1985, the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners has set the standard for global certification in heart rhythm management. IBHRE offers competency certification to physicians and allied professionals to provide quality patient care in cardiac pacing and electrophysiology. Certifications offered are the Certified Cardiac Device Specialist (CCDS), the Certified Electrophysiology Specialist (CEPS), the Certified Electrophysiology Specialist – Adult Cardiology (CEPS-AC), and the Certified Electrophysiology Specialist – Pediatric Cardiology (CEPS-PC).
