Goa: Emergency care unit inaugurated

Panaji: Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly Dr Pramod Sawant along with Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane inaugurated the Emergency Care Unit at Sankhali Primary Health Centre, Sankhali, in North Goa on Saturday.


Present on the occasion were Chairperson of Sankhali Municipal Council Dharmesh Saglani, Director of Health Services, Sanjiv Dalvi, Dy Director Dr Jose D'Sa, Chairman of Visiting Committee Shri Vishwambar Gawas, GVK MRI Head Ms Pruthvi Patkar and Medical Officer Dr Punam Bandodkar.


Addressing the gathering, Speaker Dr Pramod Sawant stressed on the healthcare facilities made available for the patients.


“It is due to the foresight of our Health Minister and the support from Chief Minister that the public is receiving some of the best and advance Health Care facilities in the state,” the Speaker said and complimented the Chief Minister and the Health Minister for their efforts.


Dr Sawant also suggested to start a Primary Health Centre at Velguem once the Sankhali Health Centre is upgraded.


Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane said special care would be taken to upgrade the status of Sankhali Health Centre and required Health Care facilities will be made available after discussing with the doctors.


“The Sub Health Centres and RMDs in the state will be upgraded on priority in order to give better health care services to the people residing in rural areas,” the Health Minister said.


Earlier Dr Roop Chand welcomed the guests. Digambar Naik compered while Dr Bandodkar proposed the vote of thanks.
