Every Hospital has to verify the credentials of their Doctors: DMC Registrar

New Delhi: It is the duty of every hospital to verify the credentials of the treating doctor hired by them-, Registrar, Delhi Medical Council, Dr Girish Tyagi recently stated. The council official was responding to a recent case where a quack, using a fake MBBS degree and a fake Goa Medical Council was practicing in a Delhi Based Hospital and was only caught after a female doctor filed a medical negligence complaint against him following the death of her brother.
It is reported that a medical negligence case had been filed by one Dr. Saika following the death of her brother. The case concerned a 45-year male patient who admitted with complaints of Blood in Vomiting and stool on 16/11/2017 at SHL Hospital, Munirka at 2 PM. He was given treatment as prescribed by Mr. Ram Chander Yaday. Around 11 PM the patient condition deteriorated and taken to Safdarjung Hospital (17/11/17) where he was declared as brought dead at 2:00 AM. Post-Mortem was done at Safdarjung Hospital which identified the cause of death as a result of shock and hemorrhage due to bleeding varices in a known case of chronic liver disease.
