First phase construction of AIIMS to be completed by Dec 2018: Health Minister

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Health Minister K Srinivas said that the first phase of construction of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) would be completed by December 2018.


The Minister inspected the on-going construction works of AIIMS in Mangalagiri town, near here along with Guntur District Collector Kona Seshidhar. Later, talking to media, the Minister said the Outpatient wards and residential buildings would be constructed in the first phase.

In the second phase, the hospital and medical college buildings would be constructed, he said, adding that the tenders process for the construction of the second phase would be completed by November, 2017. He said that the equipment in the hospital would be installed during the third phase.


The Minister said that the NDRF centre, which was existed at the AIIMS site was being shifted to six various places.
