Banglore : The absence of good quality healthcare and medical offerings coupled with lack of super-specialty skills has created a wide gap in the healthcare ecosystem of the country. In a step towards filling this gap and with the aim of providing best-in-class treatment for people in these cities, Fortis Healthcare Limited, announced its partnership with Vithal Institute of Child Health & Speciality Centre, Dharwad.


Under this partnership, Fortis Healthcare will extend its healthcare consulting services for Paediatric Cardiology, CVTS, Urology and Orthopaedics to Vithal Institute of Child Health & Speciality Centre.


The availability of super specialists is limited and practicing specialists are not willing to relocate to small towns like Dharwad due to lack of infrastructure in these towns. Therefore for addressing this issue and as per the working arrangement in the partnership, the leading doctors from Fortis hospital, Bangalore will run the outpatient departments of Paediatric Cardiology, CVTS, Orthopaedic, Urology on mutually agreed and designated days in Vithal Institute of Child Health & Speciality Centre. Fortis consultants will also conduct minor operations and treatments at Dharwad. Patient care and clinical support will be provided by the local hospital. Patients only beyond certain criticality and complications will be referred to Fortis Hospital, Bannerghatta Road, Bangalore.
