Fortis Healthcare to double bed capacity in Punjab

Mohali: Fortis Healthcare today said it would double its hospital bed capacity to 1,500 with an investment of Rs 1,500 crore in Punjab, besides setting up a medical university in the state.

"We will increase our bed capacity in Punjab to 1,500 beds with an investment outlay which has already happened and which is happening at Rs 1,500 crore," Fortis Healthcare, Executive Chairman, Malwinder Mohan Singh said here today while addressing Progressive Punjab Investors Summit here today.

Fortis Healthcare has launched its multi-specialty hospital and woman hospital in Ludhiana in 2014.

"We have also expanded our specialty oncology centre at Mohali 2015. We have also bought additional land in Mohali to double its capacity," he said.

"We have started expansion of our facility in Amritsar and adding oncology in every single hospital in Punjab," he further informed.

"We need to do a lot more in the state... For best medical health care infrastructure, we are delighted to announce today medical university in Punjab which is an additional expansion what we are doing beyond existing businesses," Singh said.
