Colorectal cancer is the fourth most common cancer in men and the third most common cancer in women worldwide.  India has experienced a significant increase in the incidence of colorectal cancer during the past few decades. In recent years, we have observed an increased incidence of colorectal cancers in younger age group, and most of them are presented to a clinician at an advanced stage of the disease.  This makes the treatment more difficult and also with very less chances of recovery. There is a rising incidence of CRC in young adults from diverse geographic and ethnic backgrounds, which could be linked to environmental pollution or lifestyle factors, such as obesity, physical inactivity, and a diet rich in processed foods.
