Chandigarh:  Haryana Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki has approved an ordinance for adopting Clinical Establishments (Registration and Regulation) Act in the state.

Initially, the Act will cover private hospitals having the facility of more than 50 beds.

Stating this, Health Minister Anil Vij said that the Act is being implemented to ensure minimum standards of facilities and services for providing quality healthcare to the people in the state. He said that notification for the same would soon be issued and after that, it would be applicable in the entire state.

The implementation of Act would help in extending quality healthcare facilities to the people as well as redressal of grievances being received against private hospitals in the state, he added.
The Minister said that central government had already implemented this Act and now Haryana too has adopted it. Earlier, 16 states in the country had adopted this Act.

To begin with, clinical establishments less than 50 beds were given exemption so that small hospitals do not face any trouble. After its implementation, any private hospital would not function arbitrarily and show negligence in treatment.

Inspite of this, if any complaint is received, stern action would be taken to such hospitals.

Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that the Haryana government would soon implement Clinical Establishment Act in the state.
