Haryana: Hospital data pertaining to medico-legal cases to be integrated with Police CCTNS

Chandigarh: Haryana Director General of Police B S Sandhu Wednesday began the process of integration of hospital data pertaining to medico-legal cases with the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and System (CCTNS) of Haryana Police.
Briefing about the project at a function at the Haryana Police headquarters in Panchkula, Additional Director General of Police A S Chawla, who is also the nodal officer of CCTNS project, said Haryana is among the few states in the country to integrate the hospitals and police department with an objective of making policing more transparent and effective.
The integration of hospitals with CCTNS is a major improvement to the current IT systems of Haryana Police, he added.
Through this integration, post-mortem reports and medico-legal reports can be viewed or downloaded by police officials from CCTNS
