Health centre gutted in Uri

Baramulla: A health centre, functioning from a private house, was gutted in a devastating fire in border town of Uri in this north Kashmir early Wednesday morning, official sources said.

They said fire broke out in the health centre at village Panzgam, Uri, about 50 km from here in the wee hours today. However, before the fire tenders could reach the spot, the health centre was completely damaged.

The cause of fire was not known, they said, adding that police has registered a case and initiated proceedings.

The health centre would be shifted to another house in the area, they said.
