Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative completes 10 years- NMC directs hospitals, medical colleges to join Health Ministry's event
New Delhi- The Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative has completed a momentous milestone of 10 years. On this occasion, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare will celebrate the initiative's completion today during an event. In this regard, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a public notice directing all the Central/State Government Hospitals, Medical Colleges, PHCS, ANMs and ASHAs to join the event through the webcast link using their mobile phones, office desktops, laptops or tablets.
The celebration will be held today i.e. on 22 January 2025 from 01:30 pm to 03:00 pm at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi. The occasion will be graced by the Hon'ble Minister, of Health & Family Welfare, JP Nadda and Hon'ble Minister of Women and Child Development Annapurna Devi and Savitri Thakur, along with the senior women officers from Armed Forces, Paramilitary Forces and Delhi Police. In addition, officials from central ministries, Anganwadi workers, student volunteers and representatives from international organisations like UNICEF, UN Women and World Bank will also participate.
In this regard, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a public notice directing all the State, District and block-level officials including DPOS, CDPOS, Supervisors, Anganwadi Workers, Helpers and officers/staff of OSCS, HEWS, Shakti Sadan, Sakhi Niwas, CCIS, CWC and JJB etc. to join the event through the webcast link using their mobile phones, office desktops, laptops or tablets.
It is also requested that all Central/State Government Hospitals, Medical Colleges, PHCS, ANMs and ASHAs also join the event through the webcast link. Additionally, group participation may also be arranged in offices, conference rooms or auditoriums to facilitate wider participation.
Further, on the occasion of the completion of 10 years of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the initiative has been helpful in overcoming gender bias and has seen the participation of people from all walks of life.
The inaugural ceremony of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative begaining today in Delhi and will continue till March 8, which is celebrated as International Women's Day.
