Breaking News: NMC reschedules NEET PG 2024, here are important dates

New Delhi: In a major overhaul, the NEET PG 2024 exam has been rescheduled to June 23, 2024. The confirmation of this effect comes from a recent notification shared by the National Medical Commission (NMC) with the Medical Dialogues team.

Earlier, the NEET PG 2024 was scheduled to be held on July 7 2024. While the exam date has been preponed, the cut-off date for eligibility to appear in the NEET PG 2024 remains 15th August 2024.

In its notice issued today, the NMC’s Post Graduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB) released the overall schedule of NEET PG 2024 including the dates of examination, results, counselling timelines, academic year commencement as well as the last date of joining by the qualified candidates.

The notice issued under the authority of Aujender Singh, Deputy Secretary, PGMEB, read:

In a meeting held by the Post Graduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB), National Medical Commission with Medical Counseling Committee, Directorate General for Health Sciences and National Board of Examinations for Medical Sciences, the following timeline has been decided with regard to conduct of NEET PG-2024:-

  • Conduct of NEET PG-2024: 23rd June 2024
  • Declaration of result: by 15th July 2024
  • Counselling: 5th August 2024-15th Oct 2024
  • Start of academic session: 16th Sep 2024
  • Last date of joining: 21st Oct 2024

On the cut-off date for eligibility to appear in the NEET PG 2024, the NMC stated, “It has also been decided that the cut off date for completion of internship to become eligible for NEET PG-2024 is 15th Aug 2024.”

All candidates desirous of taking the NEET PG-2024 are requested to take cognisance of the above dates.
