NMC Approval to 44 new medical colleges, MBBS seats intake increase at 19 institutes

New Delhi: The Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) of the National Medical Commission (NMC) has granted permission for MBBS admission at 44 new medical colleges and allowed an increase of MBBS seats in altogether 19 existing medical colleges for the academic year 2024-25.

Among these 44 new medical colleges, 24 medical colleges have received the NMC permission for 50 MBBS seats, 11 medical colleges have received permission for 100 MBBS seats and 9 medical colleges have been granted permission for 150 MBBS seats each.

Further, NMC approved 19 existing medical colleges an increase of MBBS seats. Among them, 14 medical colleges have received permission for 50 MBBS seats, 1 medical college has been granted an increase of 72 MBBS seats, and 2 medical colleges have been granted an increase of 100 MBBS seats each.  The Commission has also approved an increase of 20 MBBS seats at one medical college and 30 MBBS seats at another.

Sharing the details of the medical colleges that have received NMC nod for this academic year, the Commission mentioned in a public notice dated 06.09.2024, "The details of colleges which were issued Letter of Permission (LoP) initially by UG, MARB and Letter of Permission (LoP) issued to the colleges after the decision of the First Appeal Committee are enclosed herewith. All concerned medical colleges and health institutions are requested to kindly take note of the same."

NMC Nod for the establishment of new medical colleges: 

The details of colleges that were issued Letter of Permission (LoP) initially by UG, MARB and Letter of Permission (LoP) issued to the colleges after the decision of the First Appeal Committee are furnished below;

As per the data shared by the Apex Medical Commission, the new medical colleges that have received NMC permission for 50 MBBS seats include Annali Medical College and Rajalakshmi Health City, Kancheepuram, Government Medical College and Hospital, Jajpur, Odisha, Himalaya Medical College and Hospital, Patna, Government Medical College, LT Marg, Krishnanagar Institute of Medical Sciences Pvt Ltd, Krishnanagar, Nadia, School of Medical Science, Sri Satya Sai University of Technology and Medical Sciences Sehore (M P), Shri Gorakshnath Medical College Hospital & Arogya Dham Gorakhpur (UP), Shri Sidhu Vinayak Medical College & Hospital, Sambhal (UP), Mahatma Gandhi Missions Medical College, Navi Mumbai, RIMT Medical College and Hospital, Fatehgarh, Punjab, Government Medical College Narayanpet, Telangana, Government Medical College Jogulamba Gadwal, Telangana, Government Medical College Narsamptel, Telangana, Government Medical College Seoni, MP, Sundarlal Patwa Government Medical College, Mandsaur, MP, Shriramchandra Institute of Medical Sciences, Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Virendra Kumar Sakhlecha Government Medical College, Neemuch, Government Medical College Mulugu, Telangana, Government Medical College, Jhunjhunu, Government Medical College Nashik, Dr YSR Government Medical College, Pulivendular, Andhra Pradesh, ASMC, Lalitpur (UP), ASMC Akbarpur, Government Medical College Paderu, Andhra Pradesh.

The medical colleges that recived NMC Nod for 100 MBBS seats include Abhishek Mishra Memorial Medical College & RC Bhilai Dist Durga CG, Tinsukia Medical College Assam, PES University Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Bangalore, SR Patil Medical College and Hospital Distt Bagalkot, Sudha Medical Kota, Rajasthan, VYAS Medical College & Hospital Jodhpur, ASMC Sulatampur, UP, Kalyan Singh Government Medical College, Bulandshahar, ASMC Kushinagar, ASMC Pilbhit, Mahatma Vidur ASMC Bijnor.

NMC has approved 150 MBBS seats in the medical colleges including Ajay Sangaal Institute of Medical Sciences and Ayushmaan Hospital Shamli (UP), BGS Medical College and Hospital Bengaluru, Karnataka, Graphic Era Institute of Medical Sciences, Dehradun, Institute of Medical Sciences & SUM Hospital, Campus, Bhubaneswar, JR Medical College and Hospital, Villupuram, KMC Medical College & Hospital, Maharajganj, Shri Rawatpura Sarkar Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Atal Nagar, Raipur, Tripura Santiniketan Medical College, VN Public Health and Educational Trust.


NMC Nod for Increase of MBBS Seats: 

NMC also approved an increase of MBBS seats at 19 medical colleges.

Among these 50 MBBS seats have been increased at Mata Gujri Memorial Medical College, Kishanganj, Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences, Naharlagun, Sri Devaraj URS Medical College, Kolar, Gouri Devi Institute of Medical Sciences and Hospital, Durgapur, MVJ Medical College and Research Hospital, Bangalore, Kanachur Institute of Medical Sciences, Mangalore, LLRM Medical College, Meerut, AJ Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre, Mangalore, Mysore Medical College and Research Institute. (prev name Government Medical College, Mysore), Agartala Government Medical College, TS Mishra Medical College & Hospital, Lucknow, KD Medical College & Research Centre Mathura, The Oxford Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre Bangalore, Srinivas Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre, Mangalore.

Further, NMC increased 72 MBBS seats at SN Medical College Agra, 100 MBBS seats each at G.S Medical College & Hospital, Hapur and Jaipur National University Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, Jagatpura, 20 MBBS seats at Goa Medical College and 30 MBBS seats at Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Patna.
