New Delhi: Issuing a recent notice, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has granted medical colleges across the country a last opportunity for online submission of MBBS admission details.

Even though previously NMC had closed the portal for submitting the required details after 10.12.2024, it has now decided to re-open the portal for submitting the required details. The Commission has confirmed that the portal will remain open until 28.02.2025.

NMC has offered this last opportunity after the Supreme Court in its order dated 20.12.2024, decided to extend the last date of NEET UG counselling till 30.12.2024.

Referring to the Supreme Court's order, the NMC Undergraduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB) mentioned that given the Apex Court order, it became mandatory to seek the information related to additional online filling of admission due to the extension of date of counselling of Special Stray Vacant Round-III of UG Counselling for MBBS seats-2024-25.

Accordingly, writing to the medical colleges and institutes, the UGMEB mentioned, "In view of Hon’ble Supreme Court order in W. P. No. 824 of 2024, dated 20/12/2024. It has now been decided to open the portal to fill up online details of 1 st year MBBS course admitted students for the academic year 2024-25. The portal for submitting the required details will be open until 28/02/2025. NMC Portal was earlier opened up to 10/12/2024 for seeking the admission details carried out by medical colleges."

"In view of the above, I am directed to inform you that, this may be treated as last opportunity to provide the required information to the National Medical Commission which is mandatory as per the “CRETERIA FOR IDENTIFICATION OF STUDENTS ADMITTED IN EXCESS OF ADMISSION CAPACITY OF MEDICAL COLLEGES REGULATIONS, 1997” as well as various directions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court," it added.

Therefore, NMC UG Board has now requested the colleges, which accepted admission as per the Supreme Court order, to fill up the details of the additional admission taken by them for the academic year 2024-2025. However, the Commission clarified that the medical colleges would not be allowed to make any changes/correction in the data related to admission which has already been submitted to NMC.

"All the medical colleges which has taken admission as per the above order is requested to fill the details of additional admission taken by them for the academic year 2024-25. The medical colleges will not be allowed to make any changes/correction in the data related to admission which has already been provided to NMC earlier. To navigate the online portal for entry you may follow the link: https:www.nmc.org.in/ActivitiWebClient/login," NMC said.

Referring to the UGMEB communication issued by UGMEB Director Sukh Lal Meena, NMC Secretary Dr B Srinivas also wrote to the medical colleges on 20.02.2025 and mentioned, "Please find enclosed letter no. U-16011/Circular/2024- 25/UGMEB/M.Cell dated 19 th February, 2025 issued by the Under-Graduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB) on the subject mentioned above. All concerned stakeholders are requested to kindly take note of the same for compliance."
