NMC invites applications for starting New Medical Colleges, intake increase or renewal of MBBS seats
New Delhi: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has invited applications from concerned authorities and various stakeholders across the country seeking permission to establish a new medical college or increase intake or renewal of recognition of their respective MBBS seats for the academic year 2023-24.
The notification to this effect issued under the authority of Dr BN Gangadhar, President and Dr G Suryanarayana Raju, Member of the Medical Assessment and Rating Board, calls for the applications for the Undergraduate MBBS courses and starting of New Medical Colleges/increase of seats and renewal of courses pending for recognitions for the academic year 2023-24.
The application window is going to open on July 21st and will remain till August 10. The medical colleges seeking commencement, renewal or increase of MBBS course seats can apply till the deadline through the online portal with prescribed fees with GST.
In its notice, the NMC has listed specific instructions for applicants and directed the institutes to submit the following documents for the abovementioned approvals process:

The applicants are required to note that a complete application with registration certificates and deed copy of the society, Trust or Company. Also should contain Essentiality Certificate (EC), Consent of Affiliation (COA), existing hospital with 330 beds and land. Existing hospitals functioning under the ownership with building plans and legal documents of the land and or MOU with the hospitals management for 33 years. Financial capabilities shall be indicated through the last 03 years financial reports (ITRs) and a declaration.
Prescribed fees with GST shall be paid online, if the fee is not paid in full, the application will not be processed and liable for rejection. The fee paid for one particular course can't be carried forward/transferred to another course and can't be refunded.
The Colleges applied for starting of new colleges in the previous years and having court cases pending shall inform the NMC. They shall produce final judgement copy along with the application.
In case of any deviation found, the application will be rejected and the fees would be forfeited.

Increase of MBBS Seats
All applicants seeking increase in MBBS seats at medical colleges for the academic year 2023-2024 are hereby advised to take note of the following information pertaining to online applications:
ONLY ONLINE Applications will be received – including enclosures and Fees. NO OFFLINE (Hard Copy) will be accepted by the commission.
All Applications will be in accordance with the Amendments to the Minimum Requirements for Annual MBBS Admissions Regulations,2020 of the NMC and the Medical Council of India Increase of Admission capacity in any course of study or Training regulations, 2000 (All applicants are requested to read these regulations available on the NMC website under Rules & Regulations, NMC prior to submitting their application).
All applicants are to ensure that they fulfill the Qualifying criteriamentioned in these amended regulations.
For increasing number of seats in the existing MBBS course, shall produce Consent of Affiliation and the recognition for the existing course and number of seats.
ONLINE Application process
1. All applicants have to first register themselves by visiting the registration page by clicking on the below icon "click here to proceed to registration page".
2. After filling up the registration form, you will receive a Unique ID with one-time password on your registered email ID.
3. You need to sign in with the Unique ID, you will be prompted to change your password. Therefore, request you to change the password of your choice.
4. To Start online application process, please sign in with your Unique ID and your new password. After signing in, please click on &ldquoStart Application – Increase in MBBS seats" icon.

6. Fill the required information for Items 1 to 8
a. For Item 6- Name of Affiliating University- also need to Upload Consent of affiliation from the University

7. Self-Verification of correctness of submitted Information/Documents submitted by Applicant (to Upload the said certificate)
8. Fees: The required non-refundable fee for application is as below: a. Rs. 2,36,000/- (including GST)for the Government Colleges (under Central Government and State Governments) b. Rs.4, 72,000/- (including GST) for private sector medical colleges/institutions
Mode of Payment
(i) PayU: You can make an online payment by selecting the option "PayU" from the dropdown menu. It will redirect you to the payment gateway window wherein you can make the payment using your credit card / debit card or via Net Banking. You can also make the payment using UPI.
(ii) NEFT/RTGS: In case of NEFT/RTGS transactions, please add the below bank details as beneficiary at the time of registration for net banking:

Renewal of recognition of MBBS Seats
All applicants seeking renewal of recognition of MBBS seats at medical colleges for the academic year 2023-2024 are hereby advised to take note of the following information pertaining to online applications:
ONLY ONLINE Applications will be received – including enclosures and Fees. NO OFFLINE (Hard Copy) will be accepted by the commission.
ONLINE Application process
1. All new applicants must first register themselves by clicking on "Click here to proceed to Registration page" below. After registration, you will receive a Unique ID and a temporary password to login to the online account.
2. In case you are already registered previously for AY 2021-22, please login using the same Unique ID and password.
3. If you have forgotten the password, kindly click on the "Forgot Password" link and a temporary password will be sent to your registered email address.
4. In case of any technical help, kindly email your concern to ug.helpdesk@nmc.org.in. Only technical queries will be handled, and no other emails will be reverted.For any other queries, please email us at ug.marb@nmc.org.in.
5. To Start online application process, click on "Login" icon below and login with your Unique ID and password.

a) Six months before the examinations.
b) Inform the exact date of examinations.
c) Reminder letter, one week before the exam.
NOTE: Any wrong document with incorrect information will be viewed seriously and an appropriate action will be taken, thereafter. Application will be rejectedautomatically.

11. Fees: The required non-refundable fee for (Renewal/Recognition & Continuation of Recognition) applicationsare as below:
a. Rs. 354,000(including GST) for both the Government Colleges(under Central
Government and State Governments) and for private sector medical
colleges/institutions.
