One-Year Recognition, Continuance of recognition to MBBS Batches admitted up to 2018-2019: NMC Clarification
National Medical Commission
New Delhi: In a major relief to numerous MBBS graduates, who have been facing troubles in obtaining permanent registration in the absence of recognition for their respective batches, the National Medical Commission has granted recognition/continuance of recognition for one year for all the MBBS batches admitted up to 2018-2019.
This decision has been taken by the Undergraduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB) of the National Medical Commission as it took note of the peculiar situation and the hardships faced by the medical students in obtaining permanent registration in the absence of recognized medical qualifications.
Issuing a circular in this regard on July 11, 2023, the UG Board of the Apex Medical Commission mentioned, "It has been brought to the notice of UGMEB that there are certain previous batches of medical students, whose MBBS degree awarded by their respective Universities are yet to be recognized."
"Recognition or Continuance of Recognition for one year has already been granted by UGMEB in the year 2023 for the MBBS batch admitted in the academic year 2018-19(exiting in 2022-23)," NMC pointed out in the circular.
