Want to become assessors? NMC seeks interest from medical college faculty for inspections
New Delhi: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has asked the eligible faculties from various Government Medical Colleges to submit their willingness to be associated with the Commission for the task of conducting assessment of medical colleges from time-to-time.
NMC issued this direction to the faculties in view of the fact that MARB will start the inspection process for the Academic Year 2025-2026 in due course for various UG and PG applications.
Recently, MARB issued a notice in this regard on 27.11.2024 and mentioned, "Medical Assessment & Rating Board (MARB) carries out inspection of Medical Colleges in accordance to the MARB Regulations made under NMC Act, 2019. It is to intimate that MARB will start the inspection process for Academic Year (A.Y.) 2025-26 in due course for various UG and PG applications for which faculty from various Government Medical Colleges will be engaged as Assessors for conducting the inspections."
Mentioning that the inspection of medical colleges is a crucial activity to ensure and enhance the quality of medical education in India, MARB mentioned that it would be conducting surprise inspections of various medical colleges and the faculties of Government Medical Colleges would be engaged for this purpose.

Accordingly, NMC requested the Dean/Principal of all Government Medical Colleges to share a Google form, provided by NMC, with each faculty who is eligible to become a PG Guide for seeking their willingness to be associated with the Commission for the task of conducting assessment of Medical Colleges from time-to-time.

MARB further mentioned in the notice dated 27.11.2024, "Accordingly all the eligible faculty of Government Medical Colleges/ Institutions are requested to give their willingness through the above google link within 15 days from the date of uploading of this public notice."
Sharing the MARB notice, NMC Secretary Dr. B Srinivas wrote to the Principal/Dean of all the medical colleges and mentioned, "Medical Assessment & Rating Board (MARB) carries out inspection of Medical Colleges in accordance to the MARB Regulations made under NMC Act, 2019. It is to intimate that MARB will start the inspection process for Academic Year (A.Y.) 2025-26 in due course for various UG and PG applications for which faculty from various Government Medical Colleges will be engaged as Assessors for conducting the inspections."
"The inspection of medical colleges is a crucial activity for ensuring and enhancing the quality of medical education in India. Since, NMC would be conducting surprise inspections of various medical colleges, the faculty of Government Medical College will be engaged for this purpose," NMC further mentioned.
It also requested the Dean/Principal of all Government Medical Colleges to share the "Google form with each faculty who is eligible to become a PG Guide (Please refer Section 5 of TEQ - 22) for seeking their willingness to be associated with NMC for the task of conducting assessment of Medical Colleges from time-to-time."
