HP: CM launches electronic health card, free insulin scheme

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh launched electronic health cards and free insulin scheme for diabetic patients below 18 years under universal immunisation programme.


The health card can be downloaded from a mobile application named 'HealthCardHP'.


The chief minister along with state Health Minister Kaul Singh Thakur, at a programme here, also launched HP Universal Health Protection Scheme, a health bulletin brochure, a scheme for providing free treatment for hemophilic patients and Measles-Rubella campaign in the state.

They also laid the foundation stone of a special ward block at Indira Gandhi Medical College here, online.

Speaking at a function here, Singh said four new medical colleges were sanctioned for the state during his current tenure as the chief minister.

Thakur said dialysis facilities for diabetic patients have been started at zonal hospitals in four districts and it would be extended to all zonal hospitals in the state in a phased manner.

He also said efforts were afoot to provide 300 different type of life-saving medicines to people of the state free of charge at all community, primary and health sub-centres.
