Hyderabad Medico arrested on charges of rape
Hyderabad: A medico was arrested by the Vanasthalipuram police recently on charges of raping and cheating.
According to a recent report in Deccan Chronicle, the 29-year old medico hails from Bhoothpur village in Mahabubnagar district and was in a relationship with his distant relative for the past six years. The woman is a 23-year old MBA student, resident of vasapuram colony in Vanasthalipuram. She alleged him that he built a relationship with her on a false promise of marrying her.
According to the complaint lodged by the woman, she felt betrayed after the medico refused to marry her.
When Deccan Chronicle talked to the officials regarding the matter, police said that 'The woman complained that medico had promised to marry her and developed physical intimacy with her. When she asked for marriage, he has been postponing the matter and recently told her that they are cousins and cannot marry."
According to a judgment of Delhi high court, "entering into a sexual relationship with a woman after making her a false promise of marriage amounts to rape."
