IMA Goa felicitates 20 moms who have delivered girl child

Panaji : Indian Medical Associations Goa branch felicitated 20 women who have recently delivered a baby girl as part of its commitment towards Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign, at the state-run district hospital in Mapusa.
"IMAs Goa branch is also in the process of adopting 10 girl children and pay Rs 1,000 per annum for each of them for 14 yrs under Sukanya Yojna," IMA Goa chief Medha Salkar said.
Each doctor will adopt a child and pay yearly instalment till 14 years, she added.
On the occasion, Dr Kalpana Chodankar, Secretary IMA Goa, Dr Shekhar Salkar, President IMA Bicholim branch, Dr Geeta Kakodkar superintendent of the hospital and staff from antenatal ward were present.
