To bridge the wide gap between people and specialist doctors having extensive knowledge, Lybrate, the online doctor consultation platform in association with Indian Medical Association has introduced a new platform – ‘Lybrate - Ask the Specialist’. For this, healthcare experts will be provided by Indian Medical Association (IMA), of which Lybrate is the digital partner.
The maiden ‘Lybrate - Ask the Specialist’ event will see renowned oncologist Dr Harit Chaturvedi, Chief – Consultant & Director, Surgical Oncology, Max Healthcare, answering queries of users related to cancer on World Cancer Day on February 4.
Lybrate - Ask the Specialist will be hosted by Padma Shri Awardee Dr. K. K. Aggarwal, IMA Honorary Secretary General, wherein he will discuss the cases posted by patients on Lybrate with the specialists concerned and aim to arrive at major trends relating to multiple health conditions prevailing in the country.
“A lot of people do not have access to eminent health specialists having extensive knowledge and experience. ‘Lybrate - Ask the Specialist’ is our attempt to bridge this gap and is an extension of Lybrate’s philosophy and vision of making quality healthcare accessible to the people of India. We are committed to transform the Indian healthcare delivery and would be launching more such features to reduce the communication divide between patients and doctors,” said Saurabh Arora, Chief Executive Officer, Lybrate.
Users can post their cancer-related queries now and get them answered by Dr. Chaturvedi on World Cancer Day. He will attempt to answer a maximum number of queries during 2 and 4 PM on February 4. However, other oncologists on the platform too will be helping the patients.
“This is a unique initiative which would let people get in touch with those specialists who are usually out of bounds due to their busy schedules. One of the priorities to bring in Lybrate as IMA’s digital partner was to reduce the friction between doctor and patients through technology and ‘Lybrate - Ask the Specialist’ is a wonderful attempt,” said Dr. Aggarwal.
More such specialists will be hosted on the platform in future. Users can post their queries through web and Lybrate app. The video recording of issues discussed and health queries answered will also be made available on the Lybrate platform and other social media channels for public viewing and will be always available for anyone to get back to.
