Jammu and Kashmir: Govt makes amendments to medical education rules

J&K: Governor NN Vohra has given its go-ahead to a matter of prime importance in the state medical education service recruitment rules.It has suggested amendments to the Jammu and Kashmir Medical Education (Gazetted) Service Recruitment Rules, 1979.
As a result, to reach the level of professor, a minimum of seven years of experience will be required instead of the existing experience criteria of nine years. As per this amendment, a person, before being elevated to the position of a professor, should have served as an associate professor in the subject for three years at the Government Medical College in Srinagar or Government Medical College, Jammu.
