New Delhi: The Safdarjung Hospital and Vardhman Mahavir Medical College (VMMC), New Delhi have announced vacancies for the post of Junior Resident on an ad hoc basis in various departments. 

Safdarjung Hospital was founded in 1942 during the Second World War as a Base Hospital for the allied forces. It was taken over by the Govt. of India in 1954 under the Ministry of Health. It has grown over the years into one of the largest, tertiary, level multi-disciplinary healthcare institutions in this part of the World. Based on the needs and developments in Medical Care, the hospital has been regularly upgrading its facilities from diagnostic and therapeutic aspects to all the specialties.

Total no of Vacancies: 79

The Vacancies are in the Departments of Anaesthesia, Blood Bank, B&P Surgery, Cardiology, Casualty, Endocrinology, Forensic Medicine, General Surgery, Haematology, Medical Oncology, Nephrology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Obstetrics and gynecology, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics Surgery, Paediatrics, Physiology, Physical Medical and Medicine, Radiology, Renal Transplant, and Respiratory Medicine.  

Date of Walk In Interview:- 1st September 2023.

Venue and Reporting Time of Interview: OLD Lecture Theatre, Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi-110029 on 09:00 A.M.

Instructions for Eligible Candidates?

The following original documents are required at the time of joining, if selected: -

(I) Permanent Registration Certificate from Delhi Medical Council (Receipt will not be considered, original DMC required at the time of (Walk-inInterview)

(II) Internship Completion Certificate (on or after 01.07.2021)

(III) One passport size photograph

(IV) EWS Certificate or Caste Certificate or PWD (One Leg / One Arm / Both Orthopaedics) Certificate from government hospital (if any). (For EWS & OBC Candidates please submit certificate copy from appropriate authority, which is meant for the post under the Central Government of India, and Certified that the Candidate does not belong to Creamy Layer.

Date of issue of the Certificate should be after 01.04.2023.) Candidates are also required to submit self-attested copies of above-mentioned documents with application format for the post of Junior Resident (Non-PG) MBBS at the time of (Walk-in-Interview) on 01.09.2023, Application format has been uploaded on Hospital Website.

Note:- Those who have already done one year Junior Residency in any Govt. Hospital will not be considered.
