New Delhi: The Safdarjung Hospital and Vardhman Mahavir Medical College (VMMC), New Delhi have announced vacancies for the post of Junior Resident on an ad hoc basis in various departments. 

Safdarjung Hospital was founded in 1942 during the Second World War as a Base Hospital for the allied forces. It was taken over by the Govt. of India in 1954 under the Ministry of Health. It has grown over the years into one of the largest, tertiary, level multi-disciplinary healthcare institutions in this part of the World. Based on the needs and developments in Medical Care, the hospital has been regularly upgrading its facilities from diagnostic and therapeutic aspects to all the specialties.

Total no of Vacancies: 88

The date of the Walk-In-Interview is 25th AUGUST 2025.

Venue:- Lecture Theatre -I, First Floor, VMMC Building, Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi-110029.

The period of Ad hoc recruitment will be 89 days. Interested and eligible candidates should report on respective dates at 08:30A.M. to 09:30 A.M. at Lecture Theatre -I, First Floor, VMMC Building, Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi-110029.

The following original documents are required at the time of walk-in interview and joining(if selected) : -

(I) Permanent Registration Certificate from Delhi Medical Council (For MBBS)/ Permanent Registration Certificate from Delhi Dental Council / State Dental Council (For BDS)

(II) Internship Completion Certificate (on or after 01.07.2023)

(III) One passport size photograph

(IV) EWS Certificate or Caste Certificate or PwBD Certificate (One Leg / One Arm/ Both Orthopaedics)

Note: (i) EWS & OBC Candidate must attach certificate from appropriate authority, which is meant for the post under the Central Government of India, and certification that the candidate does not belong to Creamy Layer. Date of issue of Certificate should not be earlier than 01.04.2025.

(ii) SC, ST candidates attach Certificate issued by Tehsildar or a rank above Tehsildar in the format of State Govt./Central Govt. of India.

(iii) PWD (One Leg/Arm/Both Orthopaedics) – Certificate must be issued by State/Central Govt. Hospital. Candidates are also required to submit self-attested copies of above-mentioned documents with application for the post of Junior Resident (Non-PG) MBBS/BDS at the time of (Walk-in-Interview) , application format, OBC certificate format and EWS certificate format is attached at Annexure-I, II and III respectively.
