Karnataka: Five nursing homes slapped with Rs 54,000 fines for waste dumping

Bangaluru: Five nursing homes/diagnostic centres in Dasarahalli have been penalized with a penalties totalling Rs 54,000 for dumping biomedical waste at public places by BBMP health wing. The inspections were conducted by a team which was headed by Dr R Surendra, deputy health officer, and senior health inspector and health officer conducted the inspection in the matter.
It was noticed that after the festive week was over, heaps of garbage piled up in the city, seeing to which the mayor acted upon it and allocated personnel’s at Mavallipura and Doddaballapur waste processing units to take stock.
