Kerala: Cancer centre to start functioning in govt medical college
The state health minister has informed the media that the cancer centre at the govt medical college in the district of Kerala will start operating in February.
This is a part of the government welfare initiative, which has recently sanctioned a fund of Rs 600 crore towards the development of the healthcare services. The cancer centre has been granted an aid of Rs 10 crore.
As reported by the Hindu, the new cancer centre will start functioning next month at the facility at the Government Medical College, Kalamassery, said V. S. Sivakumar, Minister for Health.
Speaking after inaugurating the State-wide Pulse Polio programme here on Sunday, the Minister said that the cancer centre will have modern facilities.
The cancer centre would be given a financial aid of Rs. 10 crore, said K. Babu, Minister for Fisheries.
