Kerala: With an aim to bring private medical establishments under the regulation of the state government, Kerala Government is soon going to move ahead with the clinical establishment act.
A confirmation regarding the same was made by the state health ministers, who speaking to the media informed that the government is aiming to present the Kerala Clinical Establishments Bill in the upcoming budget session itself.
The bill would not only call for mandatory registration of all healthcare providers in the state, but would also aim at regulating the rates that would be charged by private hospitals and nursing homes
Speaking about other developments the minister informed that the state government is not going to start all the medical colleges that were announced by the previous government. In particular she informed that while priority is being given to Idukki government medical college, and medical colleges at Wayanad and Kasargode; Haripad medical college will take a backseat, reports TOI
She also informed about the efforts of the government to ensure cathlab facilities and dialysis units at various district and taluk hospitals respectively
