Mahanadi Coalfields Limited signs MOU with NBCC to build new medical college in Odissa

Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) signed Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), a subsidiary of Coal India under Ministry of Coal (GoI), today signed an MoU with public sector construction major NBCC as another step forward towards setting-up a Medical College at Talcher in Odisha.
The MoU was signed by General Manager (CSR) Mr B B Mishra for MCL and Mr V K Goel, General Manager (Civil), NBCC, in the presence of Mr A N Sahay, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, MCL. Mr J P Singh, Director (Tech/P&P), Mr P C Panigrahi, Director (Personnel) and Mr K K Parida, Director (Finance) were prominent among senior officers present on the occasion.
The construction work for Rs 492.62 crore 100-seat Medical College at Talcher will commence shortly. The state-of-the-art medical college of MCL on 20 acres of land in Talcher coalfields will have separate academic and residential blocks with 300-bedded boys’ hostel, 200-bedded girls’ hostel , interns’ and nurses hostel.
The existing 115-bedded Nehru Shatabadi Central Hospital of MCL in Talcher will be upgraded to 500 beds for the upcoming Medical College.
