Vipul secured 695 marks out of 720 while Khushi scored 688, said Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) which conducted the exam.

Both the toppers want to take admission in Maulana Azad Medical College in Delhi.
AIMPT 2015 was a subject of much controversy this time, with millions of students required to reappear for the exam following the news of the question paper leak on May 03 entrance exam.

The examination was conducted in 50 cities at 1065 centres and 3,74,386 candidates appeared in the examination, of whom 1,80,957 were boys and 1,93,429 girls.

There are 3722 seats against 15 per cent of all India quota.

"I was also offered a scholarship for my medical coaching by a private coaching institute. I come from a humble family and my parents had to face lot of hardships to meet my education expenses," Vipul, who wants to become a cardiologist, told PTI.

Khushi, who aspires to pursue endocrinology as her specialisation, said the second round of the test helped her better her performance.

"Although I believe I had performed better in the first examination but after the answer keys for the re-test were out I was confident that I will be among the top," she said.

In a statement, CBSE said, "While declaring the result, wait list of four times of the seats has also been prepared and provided to the Directorate General of Health Services for the purpose of counselling. Accordingly, the total number of candidates placed in merit and wait list are 18,610."

In addition to 15 per cent seats, the admission will also be made under state quota in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Odisha, Rajasthan, Chandigarh and Delhi.
