Secunderabad:  The Association of National Board Accredited Institutions (ANBAI) held its first meeting of All India DNB Alumni Association at Academic Hall, Yashoda Hospital in Secunderabad, recently.

During the meet, doctors highlighted the need and importance of a common platform for all DNB passouts. "It's a familiar fact that there is lack of DNB graduates in our country and they have no uniform platform to represent them. For this purpose, ANBAI has launched All India DNB Alumni Association in a bid to provide a unified voice to all the DNB graduates. The main goal of this association is to unite all these doctors across the country," Dr. A Lingaiah told Medical Dialogues.

The meeting also saw a formation of the state representatives of ANBAI- DNB Alumni Association, whereby now, 15 states will have a representative for All India DNB Alumni Association.

A  detailed discussion on MD-DNB equivalence took place in the light of the concerning provision in the upcoming National Medical Commission (NMC) bill.

" It has been decided that the All India DNB Alumni Association is going to submit a charter of demands on the behalf of DNB passouts of the country to the Health Ministers, Medical Associations, Medical Council of India (MCI) and to even the Prime Minister of India, Mr Narendra Modi." Dr Sunil Sharma told Medical Dialogues

Speaking on another concerning issue of DNB passouts with a lack of convocation after completion of the course, NBE's Executive Director stated on behalf of the governing body of NBE that the convocation of past 3 years would be held in the last week of July 2018.
