Former RGUHS VC Dr MK Ramesh appointed New President of NMC MARB

A renowned surgeon and the former Vice-Chancellor of Bengaluru-based Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Dr. M. K. Ramesh, has now been appointed as the President of the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB), under the National Medical Commission (NMC). Earlier, Dr. Ramesh also served as the President of the NMC Postgraduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB).

After pursuing MBBS from Mysore Medical College and Research Institute, Dr. M. K. Ramesh completed his MS General Surgery from the same institute and thereafter was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS), England.

Dr. Ramesh joined as a Lecturer and later as an Associate Professor at the Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute in 1999. In 2017, he was the acting VC at RGUHS for around eighteen months. Before that, Dr. Ramesh also served as a Registrar (Evaluation) at RGUHS. Thereafter, in 2019, he was transferred back to BMCRI as the Head of the Department of Surgery.
