Outrage after Expired Injections given to 4 Patients at Lucknow's ESI Hospital

In a shocking case of alleged medical negligence at ESI Hospital in Sarojini Nagar, Lucknow, four patients were reportedly administered expired injections, putting their health at serious risk. The incident has sparked widespread public outrage and raised urgent questions about safety standards and oversight within the healthcare system.

The incident came to light after relatives of the patients noticed signs of sudden discomfort and anxiety following the intravenous administration of injections. Alarmed by their rapidly deteriorating condition, family members inspected the vials and discovered the expired dates.

According to reports, the expired medication — identified as Ciflox injections — had an expiry date of November 2024, yet it was administered to patients several months past that. The drug had originally been manufactured in December 2021.

The situation escalated quickly, with distressed relatives gathering in protest within the hospital premises. The resulting uproar was eventually brought under control by local police.
