Ginger to be effective in maintaining blood sugar levels

Ginger, a spice that has traditionally been used for ages and is treated as medicine in both Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda, its popularly used to treat problems in digestion and blood pressure.
The study appearing in the journal Complementary Therapies in Medicine reports ginger supplementation in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) led to significant reductions in fasting blood sugar (FBS), systolic and diastolic blood pressure (BP). Further, the researchers found no significant reductions in lipid profile following ginger supplementation.
