MBBS seats renewal, MD, MS seats increase at 2 medical colleges, NMC clarifies on fake permission letters

Through a recent public notice, the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) of the National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a clarification regarding the fake/forged Letter of Renewal and Letter of Permission issued to Meenakshi Medical College, Kanchipuram, and Santhiram Medical College, Kurnool respectively.

These forged letters claimed to be issued on behalf of the Member/President of MARB. In respect of Meenakshi Medical College, Kanchipuram, the fake letter was issued regarding the renewal of permission for the MBBS course for the 4th Batch (3rd renewal) on 01.05.2023.

Take action on online sale of drugs without valid licence: Delhi HC asks Centre, State govt

The Delhi High Court has directed the Centre and the city government to take action against those engaging in online sale of drugs without a valid licence.

A bench of Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Sanjeev Narula also granted six weeks to the Centre to take appropriate steps and inform the court about its final stand on "illegal" sale of drugs online.

The bench listed the matter for further hearing on November 16 after the Centre's counsel informed the court that consultations are still going on about a draft notification on online sale of drugs.

In a randomized clinical trial with 104 participants, psilocybin treatment was associated with a clinically significant sustained reduction in depressive symptoms and functional disability, without serious adverse events. These findings add to increasing evidence that psilocybin—when administered with psychological support—may hold promise as a novel intervention for major depressive disorder.
