PG Medical admissions: Is zero percentile compromising merit?

Experts have expressed their concern as candidates scoring zero and even negative marks in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET-PG) examination have now become eligible for admission to postgraduate medical courses in India.

As per the latest media report by HT, thirteen students who secured negative marks and 14 candidates scoring zero in the PG medical entrance examination are now eligible to get admitted to PG medical courses. Raising concern in this regard, education experts have urged the government to maintain the quality of education.

Two Kerala doctors killed after GPS misguides them into river

In an unfortunate incident, two doctors lost their lives after their GPS navigation system allegedly misguided and led them into the waters of the Periyar River in the early hours of Sunday.

The reliance on GPS instructions has tragically resulted in the loss of two doctors' lives, as they, unfortunately, died on Sunday when the vehicle they were travelling in submerged into the Periyar River near Gothuruth, near Kochi.

517 Seats vacant for round 3 NEET PG, NEET MDS counselling: TN Health

Tamil Nadu Health (TN Health) has released the tentative vacancy position for round 3 NEET PG and NEET MDS admissions.

517 seats are available for round 3. MDS has 103 seats, DNB has 22 seats, and PG has 392 seats vacant.

US pharma giant Viatris to divest India API, women's healthcare businesses for USD 1.2 billion

Viatris (formerly known as Mylan Inc) has finalised two deals in India to divest its API (active pharmaceutical ingredients) and women's healthcare businesses for a combined consideration of around $1.2 billion, the healthcare company said on Monday.

The United States-headquartered global healthcare company has centres in Pittsburgh, Shanghai, and Hyderabad. Viatris has executed an agreement to divest its API business in India to Iquest Enterprises, a Hyderabad-based pharmaceutical company owned by Nimmagadda Prasad, the founder of Matrix Laboratories.

Madras HC grants Rs 15 lakh compensation to doctor who was denied MS general surgery admission at PIMS despite allotted seat by CENTAC

The Madras High Court bench recently directed Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) to pay Rs 10 lakh compensation to a doctor, who was denied an MS General Surgery admission at the institute despite being allotted the seat by CENTAC. Further, the division bench of Justices R Subramanian and R Kalaimathi directed CENTAC to pay Rs 5 lakh as compensation to the doctor for failing to take appropriate action.
