Health Bulletin 06/ December/ 2024
Here are the top health news for the day:
Upholding the order of the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) finding a surgeon liable for medical negligence while conducting surgery on the wrong foot of a patient, the Supreme Court recently dismissed the appeal filed by the doctor.
Challenging the NCDRC ruling, the concerned doctor, who worked as an Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Fortis Hospital in 2016, filed a plea before the Supreme Court.
Highlighting the shortage of doctors in State Government facilities, including primary healthcare centres, Rajasthan doctors have urged the Government to increase the number of medical officer posts.
Further, the All Rajasthan MBBS Doctors' Association pointed out how the officers leave their posts after being selected for postgraduate medical education. Therefore, it has requested the Government to fill up the vacant posts after the completion of the National Eligibility-and-Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET-PG) counseling.
