UP mandates 2-Year government service for MBBS, BDS admissions with ₹10 lakh bond penalty
MBBS/BDS students getting admitted to the government-run medical and dental colleges in Uttar Pradesh will have to execute a compulsory government service bond of 2 years with a Rs 10 lakh bond penalty at the time of admission.
As per the bond terms specified by the UP Government, after completion of the MBBS/BDS course, the candidates will be required to undergo government service for two years. If the MBBS/BDS graduates do not honour the bond terms, they will be liable to pay a Rs 10 lakh bond penalty to the State Government.

New cardiac catheterization lab inaugurated at AIIMS Raipur by Union Minister Prataprao Jadhav
The Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for AYUSH and Health and Family Welfare, Prataprao Jadhav inaugurated a new cardiac catheterisation laboratory at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Raipur in Chhattisgarh on Sunday.
AIIMS Raipur, which had only one cath lab that performed approximately 25 to 30 angiographies per week, now has this advanced state-of-the-art facility and it is expected to significantly increase the number of such procedures, a statement issued by the hospital said.

Himachal govt announces free provision of 42 medicines for cancer patients in government hospitals
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has announced that free of cost treatment and free medicines will be provided to cancer patients in the state. The state government will provide 42 medicines free of cost to cancer patients in government hospitals for their treatment and these medicines have been included in the state's essential medicine list. This was stated by the Chief Minister while presiding over the first meeting of the State Advisory Board on Cancer and Palliative Care Program.
He said that the highest number of cancer cases have been reported in the north-eastern states of the country. He said that Himachal Pradesh has come second in the country in cancer cases which is a matter of concern for the state. "In view of this, this revolutionary decision has been taken to provide relief to cancer patients. This facility will be provided in various government hospitals," stated the Chief Minister.

Leaked NBE confidential letter sparks concerns over NEET PG 2024 exam integrity
With only days left for the National Eligibility-and-Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET-PG) 2024 exam, a confidential letter issued by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has been leaked on social media, raising concerns about the integrity of the entire exam process.
Abhijat Sheth, the President of NBEMS, addressed the District administrations in that letter asking them to ensure the smooth conduct of NEET PG exam, scheduled to be held on August 11, and make sure that the integrity and sanctity of the exam is preserved.
