New Delhi investigating alleged illegal transplants at Apollo hospital in city
The New Delhi city government is investigating an Apollo hospital, part of India's largest private hospital chain, after a media report linked it to the illegal sale by Myanmar nationals of their kidneys for organ transplants.
The National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (NOTTO), which falls under the federal health ministry, had written to the Delhi authorities following a report in Britain’s Telegraph that accused Apollo of being involved in a “cash for kidneys” scandal involving villagers from Myanmar.

MBBS intern doctor, medical student arrested for selling ganja (marijuana) at JIPMER
Another Marijuana peddling case has come to light from Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER). This time three persons have been caught comprising an intern doctor, a medical student and a former medical student from the institute in connection with the case.
All three accused were found to be engaged in an illegal drug peddling case that involved selling marijuana to students, juveniles and the public. They were caught red-handed after the police discovered 300 grams from the former medical student's house.

Kerala Health Minister Veena George on Wednesday ordered an inquiry into dowry harassment allegations in connection with the death of a 26-year-old woman doctor in Thiruvananthapuram.
The Director of the Women and Child Development Department has been directed to submit an investigation report on the allegations of dowry harassment against a male doctor at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College in connection with this case

Doctor kills wife, 2 kids before committing suicide in UP
A doctor posted at a Railway hospital here allegedly killed his wife and two children before committing suicide, police said on Wednesday.
Arun Kumar Singh (45), hailing from Mirzapur, was an eye specialist at the Modern Rail Coach Factory Hospital since 2017. He lived with his wife Archana (40), son Aarav (4), and daughter Ariba (12) in a house located inside the hospital complex.
