NMC reintroduces MBBS CBME curriculum, removes controversial clauses
After withdrawing the Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) Curriculum 2024, issued on 31.08.2024, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has now published the revised guidelines for the MBBS CBME Curriculum 2024.
Issuing a notice in this regard, the NMC Secretary Dr. B Srinivas mentioned, "The revised guidelines for Competency Based Medical Education (CBME) Curriculum 2024 by the Under Graduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB) is enclosed herewith. All concerned stakeholders are requested to kindly take note of the same."

The Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association (FORDA) has announced that it is considering stepping up protests by doctors across the country, standing in solidarity with their colleagues in West Bengal. This decision follows the Supreme Court's directive urging protesting doctors to return to work.
In a recent statement, FORDA emphasized that their fight extends beyond seeking justice for the young doctor who tragically lost his life following a brutal assault at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College.

Bomb scare at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College: Suspicious bag found at hospital An abandoned bag found at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital on Thursday, triggered a bomb scare, prompting an immediate response from dog squads and bomb disposal teams.
The bomb squad found nothing suspicious in the bag. After a thorough examination, they discovered only a bottle of cold drink, a few pieces of paper, and some fruit.

Bihar: Nurse cuts off Doctor's Private Parts to escape gang-rape attempt
While the entire country is still awaiting justice in the case of the brutal rape and murder of a postgraduate trainee doctor at Kolkata-based RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, in another shocking incident, a gang rape attempt was recently made against a nurse belonging to a private hospital in Bihar by none other than a doctor at the facility along with his two associates.
In self defense, the nurse grievously injured the private parts of the accused doctor with a blade. The officials informed PTI that the incident took place at a private hospital at Musrigharari area in Bihar's Samastipur district on Wednesday night.

Junior doctor at Agra medical college arrested for allegedly raping minor girl In a shocking incident, a first-year paediatrics resident doctor at Sarojini Naidu Medical College was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl patient who was admitted to the pediatric department of the hospital.
Apart from arresting the accused and sending him to judiciary jail on the court's order, Sarojini Naidu Medical College Principal Dr Prashant Gupta has suspended the accused and constituted three committees to probe the charges. These three committees are disciplinary, departmental, and internal.
