NEET PG 2023 exam date to be announced by next month

NEET PG 2023 is expected to be held around January 23, 2023, as per the media reports. However, it has not been officially announced yet by the National Board of Examinations (NBE).

There have been speculations surfacing that the NEET PG exam format is going to be changed. However, no official confirmation has been noted about the same. Students should stick to the old format.


NMC exempts PG medicos on completion of online course in research methods, but imposes rider

In a breather to all final year PG medicos, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has allowed an exemption on the completion of 'Online Course in Research Methods' for appearing in the final PG examinations 2022.

Granting exemption, the NMC has permitted all PG medicos who could not complete the Online Course in Research Methods to appear in the final examinations in 2022. However, the NMC has imposed a rider on this allowance and has mandated that all such medicos will have to complete the Online Course in Research Methods within six months. The result of such students will only be declared after completion of the online course.

Delhi covid cases shoot past 1,000 mark, positivity 6.5%   

As per the Delhi government's daily health bulletin, 1,118 new Covid cases and two deaths were recorded on Tuesday. Following this, the covid cases cross the 1,000 mark, up from 614 a day earlier.

It is believed the B.A.2 variant, which led to the Omicron surge in January, is prevalent in Delhi. Experts are calling for more genome sequencing to confirm if other variants have made an appearance.


Hair transplant surgery to diabetic patient denied told to refund     

Holding a Bengaluru-based Hair Transplantation facility to be deficient in service, the Bangalore Urban II Additional District Consumer Court recently directed the facility to make a full refund of money to a diabetic patient, who could not get his hair transplantation done despite paying money.

The allegations against the facility, IGraft Global Hair Service were that even after taking Rs 35,000 from the complainant, it denied performing the surgery on the ground that his blood sugar levels were not within control. Further, when the complainant demanded a refund of the money, IGraft denied so citing company policy.

USFDA nod for use of apple watch to track parkinson's symptoms     

San Francisco-based startup Rune Labs on Monday said it received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to use the Apple Watch to monitor tremors and other common symptoms in patients with Parkinson's disease.

The Rune Labs software uses motion sensors built into the Apple Watch, which can already be used to detect when a person falls. Rune Labs Chief Executive Brian Pepin said in an interview that Apple Watch data will be combined with data from other sources, including a Medtronic Inc implant that can measure brain signals.
