Delhi Govt Forms Special Committee to Crack Down on Fake Medicines
Formed by the Health Department, the committee will consist of four specialised teams to conduct systematic raids across the city—often at midnight— targeting hotspots near hospitals and medical shops where fake drug operations are suspected.
A bomb threat was reported at Max Hospital branches in Shalimar Bagh, Dwarka and Saket on Saturday, prompting extensive searches by Delhi Police. The threats were later declared ''hoax", an official said.
According to a senior police officer, the Taj Palace hotel in Shalimar Bagh received a bomb threat via e-mail on Saturday morning, while Max Hospital in Dwarka was sent a similar threat in the afternoon. Both threats were declared hoaxes after extensive searches in the premises, he said. "After a thorough security check, authorities have declared the threat a hoax. The safety and security of our guests and employees is of paramount importance to us, and we continue to remain vigilant," a Taj Palace spokesperson said, news agency PTI reported.

RG Kar MBBS Student found dead; family accuses doctor of poisoning
In a tragic incident, a final year MBBS student at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata, died under mysterious circumstances while undergoing treatment at Malda Medical College and Hospital. Her fiancé, a junior doctor at Malda Medical College and Hospital, has been arrested in connection with her death.
He has been remanded to six days’ police custody after being accused of poisoning the student, which allegedly led to her falling ill.
The accused doctor is the fiancé of the deceased, as the two had secretly married at a temple in Odisha nearly four months ago. However, the deceased wanted to make the marriage public and insisted on a court marriage, but the accused was unwilling to do so.

JIPMER denies plans for MBBS-BAMS Integrated Course
