Noida: The Haryana health department, in collaboration with authorities in Noida, busted a long-running sex determination racket operating out of a private radiology centre in Sector 37. The raid led to the arrest of five individuals, including the doctor, and the seizure of two ultrasound machines.
Himachal doctor gets US Patent for Real-Time Blood Analysis System
Shimla: A doctor from the Department of Pathology at Dr Rajender Prasad Medical College in Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh, has been granted a US patent for developing a 'Blood Analysis System', a device designed to aid real-time monitoring and treatment of critically ill patients.
Dr Bal Chander said the untimely deaths of his teacher and a school friend were the inspiration behind the project, which he completed in one year without any external funding, sponsorship or collaboration.

Himachal Pathologist bags US patent for Blood Analysis System
Kerala confirms 67 cases, 18 deaths from brain-eating amoeba in 2025
A new case of amoebic meningoencephalitis, a rare but often fatal brain infection, has been confirmed in Kerala in a teenage boy from Thiruvananthapuram.
The incident prompted the health department to close the swimming pool at Akkulam Tourist Village and collect water samples for testing, as the boy had bathed there with friends the day before, reports IANS.
According to the latest Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme data, Kerala has recorded 67 cases this year, with 18 deaths. Kerala Health Minister Veena George stressed the urgent need for strict preventive measures, urging people to avoid bathing or washing their faces with stagnant or polluted water, including water used for cattle.
TN Medical Council calls Conversion therapy professional misconduct, warns doctors of license suspension
Chennai: Doctors performing conversion therapy and unethical treatment of trans persons would attract severe action, including suspension of the registration of medical practitioners, the Tamil Nadu Medical Council (TNMC) informed the Madras High Court recently.
The Medical Council informed that circulars have been sent in this regard to all the registered medical practitioners, and these issues would also be brought into the framework of continuing medical education (CME) to sensitise the doctors.
