SC extends PG medical admissions deadline to October 10

While considering the plea by the National Medical Commission seeking an extension of the admission deadline in respect of the post-graduate medical courses this year, the Supreme Court has granted a one-time extension till October 10, 2023.

The Apex Court bench took this decision while considering the plea by NMC, which sought a one-time extension of the deadline for concluding the post-graduate medical courses’ admission process for 2023-2024.

NMC invites applications for starting new MD, MS, DM, MCh courses, increase of seats

Through a recent public notice, the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) of the National Medical Commission (NMC) has invited applications for starting new Post Graduate Broad and Super Specialty courses, or increase of MD/MS, DM/MCh seats for the academic year 2024-2025.

The applications along with the following documents can be sent to the NMC board till September 15, 2023 :-

(i) Valid Consent of Affiliation (CoA) in the prescribed proforma.

(ii) Details of Hospital and Department.

(iii) Revised fees along with UTR number as per Annexure - 1

Surgery resident assaulted at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College Hospital, doctors declare strike

The resident doctors belonging to Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital have announced a strike in response to a recent incident of physical assault on a resident of the Surgery Department, while he was on duty and was providing care to the patient.

The incident of violence against the resident doctor occurred yesterday i.e. on August 16, 2023, when the attendants of a patient assaulted the on-duty resident doctor.
