NEET PG 2025: Doctors Highlight Admin Lapses, Urge Reforms from NBE and Health Ministry

Citing the hardships faced by thousands of NEET PG 2025 aspirants who faced 'administrative failures, procedural opacity, and policy inconsistencies' during PG medical entrance exam conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), the doctors have demanded accountability and reforms from NBEMS and Union Health Ministry.

The Federation of Resident Doctors' Association (FORDA) pointed out that every year, more than 200,000 MBBS graduates aspire to pursue specialised medical training through NEET PG. However, in 2025, the aspirants of these students "collided with a system that prioritised convenience over fairness, opacity over transparency, and profit over principle," stated FORDA in a release.

ESIC Medical College Indore MBBS Students Protest Over Lack of Practical Training, NMC Violations

MBBS students at ESIC Medical College, Indore are protesting against the violation of National Medical Commission (NMC) norms as they have alleged that they are being taught almost entirely through textbooks and Powerpoint presentations, with little to no practical exposure even three months into the academic session, Dainik Jagran has reported.

According to the Daily, the students have alleged that essential facilities required for core medical subjects such as Anatomy, Physiology, and Biochemistry are either missing or grossly inadequate. In protest, the students recently boycotted practical classes.

MCC Updates NEET PG 2025 Round 3 with Additions, Seat Withdrawals

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), has issued an urgent notice informing candidates about the addition and withdrawal of seats in the Round 3 seat matrix of the National Eligibility and Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET PG) Counselling for the academic year 2025.

According to the official notice, MCC has received information from several medical institutions regarding changes in their seat availability. As a result, the seats identified for withdrawal will be removed from the Round 3 seat matrix before seat processing, while the newly added seats have already been incorporated, allowing candidates to exercise fresh choices accordingly.

The premier health institution, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi, has convened India's first national summit on Elimination of Cervical Cancer in India, where Government and cancer institutions highlighted the need for expanding HPV vaccination and improving screening coverage through self-sampling HPV DNA testing.

Speaking at the first national summit on Elimination of Cervical Cancer in India, the participants signalled commitment to translate policy intent into on-ground action.
