NEET-MDS 2026: Registrations To Open Soon, Exam On May 2
The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will soon begin registration for the National Eligibility and Entrance Test for Master of Dental Surgery (NEET MDS) for the academic year 2026-27.
The registration process will be conducted on the official NBEMS website.
Meanwhile, the exam will be held on May 2, 2026. Candidates are advised to have their documents ready to apply online.

Karnataka High Court Sets Aside Order Against RGUHS on MBBS Paper Evaluation
The Karnataka High Court has ruled that answer scripts cannot be sent for a third round of evaluation if the rules of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) do not permit it, and set aside an earlier Single Bench order that had directed fresh assessment of MBBS papers by an additional examiner.
Granting relief to the university, Division bench comprising Chief Justice Vibhu Bakhru and Justice CM Poonacha observed, "It is relevant to note that the Ordinance governing the evaluation of the answer scripts expressly provides that "the marks awarded and the results so declared shall be final and under any circumstances further valuation shall not be entertained.", Thus the revaluation is impermissible."

Lucknow Man Shoots Father Over NEET Pressure, Hides Body in Drum
In a shocking incident, a 21-year-old man from Lucknow has been arrested for allegedly shooting his father, dismembering the body, and hiding the torso in a drum at their residence.
The accused, who is currently in police custody, has reportedly confessed that he was angry with his father for allegedly constantly pressuring him to study for NEET. Police believe this anger may have been the reason behind the alleged gruesome murder.

Hospital Cannot Escape Liability for Doctor’s Negligence, Rules Uttarakhand HC
The Uttarakhand High Court has refused to grant interim relief to Max Healthcare Institute Limited in an alleged medical negligence case where the hospital was directed to pay Rs 10 lakh as compensation following the death of a patient during treatment.
Medical Dialogues had reported on the case in which the Uttarakhand Medical Council directed the hospital to pay Rs 10 lakh in compensation to the family of the deceased after holding the hospital and its doctors responsible and guilty of medical negligence. Two doctors, including a neurosurgeon, were also suspended in the case. Aggrieved by the order, the Dehradun-based private hospital approached the Uttarakhand High Court seeking relief. However, the Court declined to entertain the plea and instead directed the parties to file their counter-affidavits.
