Dentists unqualified for aesthetic procedures, says Delhi Medical Council

While responding to a Right to Information (RTI) application, the Delhi Medical Council (DMC) has clarified that dentist(s) are not qualified to do aesthetic procedures like Botox or Acne treatment.

Further, the Council specified that in order to practice allopathy in Delhi, a person should have an M.B.B.S degree and a registration with the council. Any person, not having the requisite medical qualification and council registration is liable to be prosecuted, the Medical Council in the National capital further mentioned.

Viral video: IPS officer verbally abuses Safdarjung doctor, doctors call for apology

There was a major standoff between doctors and police officials recently at Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital after a resident doctor was allegedly bullied and verbally abused by a senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer. The video of the incident soon went viral on social media with doctors demanding a full stop on VIP culture.

The incident took place on Sunday over the treatment of the bureaucrat's wife, who was admitted to the hospital. Soon, the CCTV footage and audio file of the communication went viral on social media.

HC grants interim relief, permits MBBS student to resume classes

Claiming to have scored more than 40% in the theory exam, a first-year medical student approached the Madhya Pradesh High Court after being declared failed by the MP Medical Science University. On this, the court provided him interim relief and permitted him to attend second-year medical classes pending judgment.

While passing the order, a bench of Justice S Dharmadhikari and Justice Anuradha Shukla issued notices to MP Medical Science University and the National Medical Commission in connection and has put the results on hold until a final decision is reached on the petition.

Drunk patient creates ruckus, attacks Neurosurgery resident at GTB hospital

A recent case of violence against medical professionals was reported at the neurosurgery department of Guru Tegh Bahadur (GTB) Hospital, where a patient, reportedly intoxicated, became aggressive during an examination, verbally abused on-duty doctors, nurses, and staff.

A patient, allegedly drunk, created a ruckus in the neurosurgery department of Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital during treatment, breaking fixtures and threatening doctors on duty, the hospital authorities said on Tuesday.
