In the recently released Guidelines for Under Graduate Courses under Establishment of New Medical Institutions, Starting of New Medical Courses, Increase of Seats for Existing Courses & Assessment and Rating Regulations, 2023, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has stated that for being appointed in the post of Demonstrators, PhD degree will be required in case of MSc postgraduates.

An innovative technology for the management and detection of diabetes has been unveiled by researchers from the Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS), Pilani, Hyderabad. The portable system is designed to analyze glucose and lactate levels found in sweat samples using 3D printing technology power.
Doctors unwilling for remote postings: HC junks plea seeking medical college in every district
Observing that qualified medical doctors are not even willing to accept appointment in the remote areas, and that being the position, expecting either the government or private entities to establish medical colleges in the far flung areas become unreasonable, the Uttarakhand High Court has rejected a PIL seeking to to establish medical colleges in all 13 districts of the state.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Vipin Sanghi and Justice Rakesh Thapliyal, additionally clarified that it is not necessary to set up a medical college to provide good medical facilities in a district.

UP Govt urges people to take preventative medication against Filariasis
In an effort to completely eradicate Filariasis, a disease transmitted through mosquito bites in Uttar Pradesh, the state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is urging the residents to take preventative medication before August 28.
In an appeal, the state government states, "There is only one way to protect yourself from the grip of filariasis, the disease that could leave your foot swollen like an elephant's and even lead to hydrocele-take medicine. Filariasis, a disease transmitted through mosquito bites, poses a serious and incurable threat."
