Attacks on doctors: Register FIR in one hour, orders Kerala high court
Taking cognizance of the increasing instances of attacks on doctors, the Kerala High Court has recently directed the police authorities to ensure that a First Information Report (FIR) needs to be registered on every incident of attack on a doctor or medical professionals within one hour.
The HC bench comprising Justice Devan Ramachandran and Justice Kauser Edappagath issued this direction as a primary step to address the issue of violence against doctors.

Haryana Govt modifies bond policy to 5 years service, 30 lakh penalty
After a month-long protest of the medical students, the Haryana Government has agreed to modify the MBBS bond policy by reducing the penalty amount from Rs 40 lakh to Rs 30 lakh and the duration of bond service from 7 years to 5 years.
However, unhappy with these changes, the medical students in Haryana have rejected the modifications and they are continuing with their strike. The medicos have not changed their stand and they are still demanding one-year compulsory bond service with guarantee of job from the Government.

NMC rejected 65 appeals moved by patients, reveals RTI
The National Medical Commission (NMC) has turned down 65 appeals moved by patients or their families in the last seven months.
While responding to a Right to Information (RTI) application filed by Kannur-based ophthalmologist and activist Dr. K V Babu, the Apex medical commission has informed that 65 appeals were rejected between March to September this year on the ground of non-maintainability.
