Observing that proper documentation is the best defence of a treating physician in medical negligence cases, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has advised the doctors to ensure that the case history of a patient or the examination findings are carefully documented.

The Apex Medical Commission further emphasised the fact that there should not be a mismatch between the clinical notes made by the treating physician and the progress notes made by the attending nurse.

NPPA fixes retail price of 29 formulations

Through a recent notice, the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA), Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India, has fixed the retail price of 29 formulations including those used to treat high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, certain types of inflammation associated with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, muscle pain, bone pain, and joint pain, also dietary supplements and antacids.

ICMR data leak reveals personal info of 81.5 cr Indians: Report

In a massive data breach, details of over 81.5 crore citizens with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) are on sale on the dark web, which contains crucial information such as Aadhaar and passport details, along with names, phone numbers, and addresses, according to the reports.

Given the severity of the matter, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is expected to probe the incident after the ICMR files a complaint.

Some of the medical experts also said that 70-hour-week regimen would be “far too ambitious,” and urged team leaders at workplaces to divide work in an optimised manner among team members and “not try to extract too much work from an individual”, which often leads to physical or psychological burnout among employees.
